Part of Paid social landing pages
Choosing a landing-page action for cold audiences
Choose a useful first action for new paid social visitors, from checking fit or eligibility to enquiring or buying.
Ask a first-time visitor to do only what they can reasonably decide after seeing the ad and page. Make the primary action advance a real purchase or help resolve a decision they need to make.
Start with the visitor's decision
List what someone new to the business must know before acting. For a specified product, price, variant and delivery details may support purchase. For a location-limited service, eligibility may need to come first. For a range, visitors may need a way to narrow their choice.
| Visitor still needs to… | Possible first action | Later business check |
|---|---|---|
| Confirm fit | Read specifications or use a fit guide | Relevant selection and confirmed orders |
| Check service availability | Check area eligibility | Suitable enquiries |
| Choose from a range | Compare or filter products | Relevant product views and confirmed orders |
| Complete a clear offer | Buy or request a quote | Confirmed orders or assessed enquiries |
These are possible routes, not predicted conversion rates. The action must lead where its wording says it will.
Ask for a proportionate commitment
Show basic product or service information before requesting personal details that are only needed later. An enquiry route should state the essential eligibility conditions, what information the business needs and what happens after submission.
For example, an email sign-up that delays access to a size guide may record a lead while leaving the visitor's fit question unanswered. Decide which later outcome matters before treating a button click or sign-up as success.
Match the ad and page action
An ad inviting people to ‘See the range’ needs a page that helps them browse it. An ad promising a quote needs a route that explains the request. TikTok's published policy says landing pages must function properly on the network of the targeted market and be mobile-friendly. It also lists pages that require personal information to access their main content among examples that are not allowed.
Make the primary route visible on a phone while keeping price, delivery and eligibility details accessible. Visitors can then understand the offer and its limits.
Landing page action best practices for cold audiences
- Ensure the landing page functions properly on TikTok's network in Australia
- Make the page mobile-friendly for Australian users
- Avoid requiring personal information to access main content
- Display essential details like price, delivery, and eligibility clearly
- Ensure ad and page actions match (e.g., ‘See the range’ → browse functionality)
- Verify that primary actions are visible on mobile devices
Judge the complete result
Before launch, check that the route reaches the intended confirmation and business record using permitted sample details.
After launch, review page arrivals, action attempts and useful outcomes separately. Few actions may indicate an unanswered question or another page problem. Many actions with unsuitable outcomes may indicate unclear wording or eligibility. Neither pattern establishes its cause without further inspection.

- Page arrivals
- Track via analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, TikTok Pixel)
- Action attempts
- Measure button clicks, form submissions, or quiz completions
