Handling rejected ads without repeated blind resubmission

Use the stated rejection reason to inspect the affected ad, page or form, then make a documented correction or a focused appeal.

When an ad is rejected, save the submitted version and read the platform’s stated reason before changing anything. Inspect the affected ad, destination or form. Fix an identified fault, or appeal if there is a specific reason to believe the submitted version complies; resending an unexplained version does not resolve the diagnosis.

Preserve the rejection record

Record the platform, account and ad identifiers, the submitted asset and wording, time of notice, displayed reason, and any affected placements or markets. Note whether the notice concerns an ad, ad group, form or account. Remedies may differ by scope.

TikTok shows rejection details in the Campaign tab’s ad and ad-group lists. Read the account’s actual notice; a general policy page cannot identify why a particular ad failed review.

On TikTok, find the rejection prompt in the Campaign tab’s Ad Group or Ad list. Keep the notice with the submitted version so you can compare the stated concern with the exact material reviewed.

TikTok says rejection may relate to policies for ad creatives and landing pages. It advises that ad text, imagery, captions, audio, video, landing page and language be consistent and appropriate. Record the defect and the versions before and after any correction. If the notice is unclear, send the notice and submitted version through the available support route rather than guessing.

For TikTok, compare the notice with TikTok Advertising Policies - Ad Creatives & Landing Page and the Industry Entry policy. The Ad Review FAQs also point to TikTok’s Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Ad Review Checklist, and policies for restricted and prohibited products or services.

Check whether the stated concern involves a prohibited or restricted industry, misleading claims, false information, sensational or shocking content, intellectual property infringement, or political, religious or culturally sensitive content. An ad group can be rejected if one or more ads in it violates advertising policies.

Age restrictions depend on the product or service and the region targeted, and some products or services are prohibited in particular countries or regions. Check the relevant restriction when the notice concerns age, product or market eligibility.

Choose correction or appeal

Correct and resubmit when the submitted version has an identifiable fault. For TikTok, review the rejection details and check the resulting status in the account.

Change the element tied to the notice, then compare the revised version with the rejected one before resubmitting. For a concern about a misleading claim, inspect the claim across the text, imagery, captions, audio, video and landing page; correct the fault if present, or explain why the submitted version complies when appealing.

Appeal when the team can explain why the submitted version meets the stated rule. Include relevant evidence. TikTok’s documented One Click Appeal asks for a reason and permits supporting material. It advises one appeal per incident; after that appeal is submitted, the ad or ad group cannot be edited through that flow.

For TikTok, open the Ads Manager dashboard and select the Campaign tab. In the Ad Group or Ad list, hover over the Not delivering, Limited delivery or Pending status, select View more, then select Appeal; the Appeal button is also available in the rejected Ad Group or Ad Review, including Industry Rejection.

The appeal window asks for a reason and a description, which is mandatory and allows up to 2,000 characters. You can submit in any language, but replies will be in English; supporting materials are optional, with up to five PNG, JPG or PDF files of 10 MB each. Provide material that helps the team understand the case.

An appeal made at ad-group or ad level triggers a review of the entire ad group. After submitting a One Click Appeal, you cannot edit the ad or ad group through that flow.

TikTok also says this ad-level appeal route is unavailable while the account is suspended.

If the appeal succeeds, the ad starts running, its Delivery Status changes to Active, and TikTok sends an email notification. If it does not succeed, return to the Campaign tab, hover over the rejected ad or ad-group status and select View more to inspect the status details.

If the appeal fails, read the result before revising or seeking further support. Record the final disposition and compare the next uploaded ad with the corrected version so an older asset is not sent again.
